*Theme is broken on 12.04 Precise Pangolin. Will need a thorough rewrite.*

Unity/Gtk2.0/Gtk3.0/Metacity Theme based on elementary Gtk2.0/Gtk3.0/Metacity. Gtk3.0 has been almost completely rewritten from scratch and modified with unity panel support while retaining the elements that make that theme awesome.

Full credit to elementary team for their inspired design.

0.0.2

Fixed issue with file-chooser sidebar items behaving glitchy

0.0.1

Gnome Shell/Gnome Classic variation included.
Simply extract the folders into .themes and use gnome tweak tool to change to the appropriate theme depending on your desktop.

Requires:

Unico engine
Murrine engine

Known issues:

-Thunderbird toolbar uses selected_fg_color and therefore uses white text. Either all gtk2.0 menus must be light so that selected_fg_color can be dark or thunderbird has white text. I haven't found a way to fix it after hours of tweaking.

-Initially I was focused on getting it looking good under unity. I will now work to make it function properly (menubars are ugly) under gnome shell.

Hello :D
in Xubuntu 12.04 (with XFCE 4.10) I have these problems in gedit. Maybe I'd to download other version of Elements? :D

This is my favorite gnome 3 theme but it doesn't work with gnome 3.4 anymore. Any chance for an update?

I love this theme! My current theme is Elements-Unity with Ubuntu 11.10. Unfortunately, in Unity-2d, when the window maximized, the three buttons(close, unmaximize, minimize) are not adapted to this theme. my machine can't use Unity, so I want to fix this. What can i do?

I got the way to fix. in /usr/local/themes/, type
>sudo mv Ambiance Ambiance.bkp
>sudo cp Elements-Unity Ambiance
>cd Ambiance/metacity-1.0
>sudo cp ../unity/* ./
then, select "Ambiance" in gnome-tweak-tool.
There may be some bags in unity-2d...

GTK2 theme doesn't work. Running LMDE Xfce-Desktop.

Getting the error message: "xfce4-appearance-settings:
/home/.../.themes/Elements(GS-and-Classic)/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:118: error: unexpected identifier `default_button_color', expected character `}'"

All gtk2-engines installed ...

Great looking theme! I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 w/Unity. I can't seem to get it to work? I've copied the unity folder for this to /usr/share/themes, but Elements doesn't appear in gnome-tweak-tool's theme selector?

So far this is my favorite gtk3 theme, but I'm still getting the "file-chooser sidebar items behaving glitchy" bug in the GS/classic version, especially when hovering over my empathy buddy list.

It looks decidedly gorgeous, but for some reason the theme doesn't work with the synaptic package manager (it shows Raleigh as the GTK3 theme but with the Elements window theme). Other than that it's beautiful! I'm using it on Ubuntu 11.10 under Gnome Shell, if that helps. Thanks!

Hi! Cheers for the interest. Synaptic is open sudoed so in order for it to be themed properly you have to copy the theme folder to your usr/share/themes folder.

Do you have an idea how to get this working with the gnome-panel package?

There is now a theme for gnome3 shell and classic included! Though it's not as polished or interesting as the dark unity bars yet.

i'm having the same problem with thunderbird in greybird, it's totally reproducible across themes and i think it should be fixed upstream. however, if you find a workaround let me know, would be nice to have thunderbird's toolbar not look shitty in xubuntu by default...

I'm pretty sure, from some code I've seen in other themes, that mozilla programs have specific widget classes that can be invoked to change certain aspects of how they're themed. It may have been something in the Ambiance Gtk2.0, I can't remember. But if it can be fixed without upstream I think that's the only way...that or just never have dark menus...

yes they do have specific widget classes (that's what i meant with the workaround mostly), but they are hard to track down.
i've figured them out in the past by reading thunderbird's code, but this is really not much fun so i skipped it this time.

and: ambiance has dark menus (so white text) but also dark toolbars, so no problem and therefore no mozilla/thunderbird-specific code in their gtk-2.0/gtkrc.
